The North Florida Chapter Impacts Lives in Jacksonville & Beyond.

Sensory Safari:
This program is an up-close experience that gives children and adults a hands-on wildlife adventure.  We also take sightless and visually challenged children "on safari" around the world through an educational course that focuses on conservation.  Since 1991 - Approximately 28,000 school children, teachers and parents have experienced Sensory Safari in the Jacksonville Community.

Salvation Army's Toys for Tots:
We collect toys and make a substantial annual contribution for the Salvation Army's Toys for Tots every year, since 2003.  Since 2003 - Approximately 500 toys donated to the  Salvation Army's Toys for Tots.

Apprentice Hunter Program:
Young people from all over the area have been sent to the YO Ranch and Indianhead Ranch in Texas for a week of Apprentice Hunter Camp.  This camp teaches hunting techniques and safety courses to young hunters.  Since 1993 - Almost 50 students have attended the Apprentice Hunter Program, with many more waiting to be scheduled.

AWLS:
AWLS or American Wilderness Leadership School sends both public and private school teachers to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where they learn about hunting and conservation.  This camp imparts important concepts to teachers, who can then share them with their students.  Since 1986 - Almost 80 teachers have attended AWLS, with many more waiting to be scheduled.

Sportsmen Against Hunger:
This program began in 1989 in an effort to met food banks' need for low fat, low cholesterol, and preservative free, high protein meats.  Through North Florida Chapter members' donations of game meat to the Jacksonville Salvation Army unit, we have supplied meat for thousands of meals to the homeless.

Youth Activities:
Each year we sponsor a Family Fun Shoot and invite anyone who wishes to attend.  We have instructors to teach the proper handling of guns and a representative from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to speak on gun safety.

Sables:

Founded in 1984 by the women of SCI, the SCI Foundation Sables are committed to continuing our outdoor heritage through education.    Over the years Sables evolved into a group of women and men dedicated to supporting outdoor education programs that promote conservation and the positive role of hunting.  All funds raised by Sables are dedicated to SCIF Education Programs.

SCIF Sables are the recognized leaders in outdoor education by SCI and SCIF.   They recognize the future of the shooting sports and hunting rests with today’s youth.  Their efforts are directed toward recruiting educators, youth group leaders, and young people to the conservation science program at the American Wilderness Leadership Schools in Wyoming, Iowa and Minnesota.
